This is one of the most notable departures to occur this year at RC Lens : that ofArnaud Pouillegeneral manager of the club replaced this summer by Pierre Dreossi.
Since then, he has been appointed new executive president of Stade Rennais, succeeding Olivier Cloarec. He presented himself to the press, discussing the timing of his visit, only 4 months after his departure from Racing. In comments relayed by L’Equipe, he comments: “ The trajectory of Stade Rennes last year inevitably raised questions. Clubs, when they are solid and structured, ask themselves questions internally. Afterwards, I’m not going to lie to you, the contacts were relatively recent. There was an identification process. I don’t want to give a precise date but I watched Rennes-Lens (1-1, September 21) while still being from Lens but with a close eye on Stade Rennais. »

Coincidence of fate, in Brittany he finds the sports director Frederic Massara. He had spoken with the Italian, former sports director of AS Rome, as part of a visit to RC Lensas he confirms: “ When we were thinking about sports management in my former project (editor’s note: at RC Lens), we targeted him and I had the chance to meet him. You should know that he has a very good rating among players. At the end of a season that is inevitably disappointing in terms of results, with lots of movements, it is rare in a solid club like Rennes to have twenty-five arrivals/departures over a summer, particularly with players who must wear the identity of the club, but took the bull by the horns and ensured the formation of a group with Julien (editor’s note: Stéphan). I recognized his ability to work, and he is in fair and good collaboration. I am happy to find him at Stade Rennais. »
