This Saturday, June 29, “Fort Boyard” is back for the summer season on France 2. For its 35th season, the game will have an unusual broadcast, due to the Olympic Games. As Alexandra Redde-Amiel, director of entertainment and games at France Télévisions, indicated at a press conference on June 25, 7 episodes of “Fort Boyard” will be broadcast during the summer. The other episodes filmed – two special episodes – will find their place on the France 2 schedule at another time.
A disrupted program
The program, this year, will not have its usual programming. Indeed, if the show begins on a Saturday, not all the episodes will be on the air on a Saturday. There is notably an episode scheduled for Thursday, July 18, the second of the week after that of the previous Saturday, July 13. The show will not, however, be broadcast between July 26 and August 11, the period of the Olympic Games.
The 2024 candidates
As for the candidates, all the names of the participants in this 35th season were revealed during the filming of the episodes. Among them, there is notably Natasha St-Pier (winner of “Dancing with the Stars” 2024) Julien Liebermann (finalist of the “Star Academy” 11), Philippe Etchebest, Elsa Esnoult, Norbert Tarayre and Théo Curin. The one who will host “Slam”, replacing Cyril Féraud, who left at the helm of “Everyone wants to take their place”, is already on his third participation.

For this 35th anniversary, the former game hosts Patrice Laffont, Cendrine Dominguez and Jean-Pierre Castaldi, as well as the game producer, Alexia Laroche-Joubert, are also taking on the challenges of Père Fouras.
The new 2024 events
For Alexandra Redde-Amiel, “Fort Boyard” is a “historic brand that constantly reinvents itself to continue to amaze our spectators every year“. So, in 2024, the Fort will experience its share of new features. Starting with the forbidden cells, of which there are 7, with new challenges launched by Father Fouras:
-“The computer room” dedicated to artificial intelligence and its robot avatar by Father Fouras
-“The den of the banished” where individuals excluded by Father Fouras sleep
-“High security” where the former treasurer of the Fort is hiding
-“The Den of Nightmares” and its mind-reading machine
-“The tomb of the poltergeists” and its two characters released by Father Fouras on the Fort to wreak havoc there
-“The museum of sacred relics” and its emblematic objects from the Fort
– “The trophy room” with its records to equal or beat

In addition to the forbidden cells, the production (ALP) has also imagined five new games, including “new outdoor tests” as Alexandra Redde-Amiel pointed out.
-“Le Château Boyard” where a duo of candidates must harvest grape juice, one disguised as a barrel, the other filling it and pressing it
-The new “Superette” of the Fort sees its shelves filled with snakes, worms and other insects that the candidate must scrupulously weigh.
– “The poles”, the balancing candidate must advance from pole to pole but that’s without taking into account the Boo family who will do everything to ensure that he falls into the water
-“The Viking” offers a new version of the Excalibur sword test with a block of ice to break, underwater, using the famous sword
– “The double rocket man”, already in force from 2006 to 2017, also knows a modification. The candidate sent into the air now faces a member of the Boo family
New characters and new roles for the historicals
Like every year, “Fort Boyard” welcomes new characters. The Boo family, relieved of Little Boo, nevertheless reveals a new member, Booster. In “the den of the banished”, one of the seven forbidden cells, we find a submarine pilot who is very fond of explosives, a banished master of time, a pirate, Blue, mermaid apparently sister of White and Red, and Anne-Gaëlle Riccio, former host of the game, alongside Olivier Minne, from 2006 to 2009, here converted to betting.
The “passes”, Passe-Temps and Passe-Muraille, are regaining power a little. They will express themselves, for the first time since the creation of the game. But above all, Passe-Partout will help the candidates, twice per broadcast, while Passe-Muraille will face them. Willy Rovelli, put the sheriff’s outfit in the closet to bring out his chef’s hat. He reopens his gourmet restaurant “Chez William”.
Finally, Cyril Gossbo, Cyril Féraud’s character, “dreams of being a movie star this year“, as revealed by Alexandra Redde-Amiel.
