The eleventh episode of The Traveler series was filmed in the area of Penvénan. It will be broadcast this Saturday, November 23 at 9 p.m. on France 3.
A month of filming
Last February, the van of Inspector Kandinsky, the hero of the series, parked at Port Blanc, Penvénan, Plouguiel, Trévou-Tréguignec as well as on the Goëlo coast.
The famous inspector, slightly gruff and detached, is played by actor Bruno Debrandt. On availability from the police, he lives free with his dog aboard his old Chevrolet van which has seen others and tackles Cold Cases, unsolved cases.
This is episode 11 of season 2 which was filmed in the region by director Sara Pim. The team of 35 people remained a month in the region.
A kidnapping
The story begins when Yann Kandinsky recharges his batteries in a forest located in the depths of Allier, wanting to take a step back, after confronting the worst criminals.
But his peace of mind is short-lived, the police officer is contacted by a man who calls him without revealing his identity. The latter establishes a link between three disappearances of women that occurred in the same geographical area, around Brest. Kandinsky refuses to mobilize.
The unknown person constantly feeds Kandinsky's mailbox with press articles concerning these affairs. Kandinsky takes the road to Brittany, when he discovers that the mother of one of the missing, Madeleine Guyot, is beginning her third week on hunger strike so that the police will be interested in what she considers to be a kidnapping. and not a voluntary disappearance.
The episode received an award
This episode received the Grand Prix Cognac 2024 French-speaking television film. Each time it is broadcast, the hero, played in the first season by Eric Cantona, attracts nearly 4 million viewers.
