Black Edeha proposed to her partner, she tells us the rest [SPOILER]

DRAG RACE FRANCE – “VINCENT, MARRY ME!” » It is with a cry from the heart that Edeha Noire left the big stage of Drag Race France at the end of the third issue of the France 2 reality TV show, broadcast Friday June 14. The drag queen was eliminated after the “ball” (“ball”in French), a mandatory requirement in all RuPaul’s Drag Race franchises during which the candidates must present several outfits during the same episode.

Pinned down by the jurors for the (questionable) quality of the dress that she herself created from sports materials, as required by the instructions in honor of the next Olympic Games organized in Paris, black Edeha had to exit the program after a lip sync on It’s lovethe French adaptation of Donna Summer’s hit I feel love by Clara Luciani, facing her comrade Ruby on the nail.

After the surprise aroused on the set by her declaration when leaving the main stage, Edeha Noire explains herself, once back in the workshop. “Vincent is my lover. He doesn’t know that I’m making a small request of him.” reveals the competitor. “I think it was the best place, in fact, to propose to him, in front of the whole of France. »

“He didn’t expect it at all”

“Vincent discovered my request live, during the viewing party that I organized at the Chromatique bar in Lyon. I think it was a shock, he didn’t expect it at all! »laughs the competitor, who had managed to keep the secret since filming in February. “In fact, from the casting for “Drag Race”, I knew that I would propose on the big stage if I was eliminated. In the end, it was a complete snub, with an ending on a positive note while the episode ended “badly” for me. »

Since the end of filming, “very, very few people knew about it.” And especially not Vincent, then. “During my performance at Chromatique at the end of the episode, I lip-synched to “A Thousand Years”, the Christina Perri song that we hear in “Twilight” and which is very often used at weddings “, continues Edeha. “During the performance, I got down on one knee and proposed to him in real life! »

“Vincent accepted, of course! If all goes well, the wedding will take place in the summer of 2025, and I will wear a big white dress”promises the competitor who defines herself as a non-binary trans person. “The feedback from Drag Race fans is crazy! I receive lots of messages of love and support… and many people offer me their services: performances, photographs, catering…”

” I am so happy “, summarizes the candidate. “Vincent is the person who supports me the most in the world, who understands me… I would never have done drag racing without his support. »

Co-parenting

In previous episodes, Edeha Noire had already addressed her private life: she revealed that she had conceived a little girl while co-parenting with a couple of lesbian friends. “I am a mother of 3, I have a daughter who is two and a half years old”the drag queen explained to her competitors during the second episode of the season. “We did it with love, three of us. It was quite complicated, but I needed it. At 32, I said to myself “it’s now or never”. »

And to add: “I made sure not to recognize my daughter to allow the other mother to adopt her. » A sequence which raised the difficulties of parenthood for LGBT people, while, as Edeha pointed out, GPA is not legal in France and PMA, despite its legalization, is difficult to access for couples of lesbians and single women.
