Owner of the Manchester City football club but also of the Wathba Stud Farm, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan will buy the Ginai Stud in Normandy, in Orne, as revealed yesterday (read Tuesday) by our colleagues from West France. Contacted this Wednesday morning, the former trainer, Jean de Roualle, now “country manager” within Yas Horse Racing Management, confirmed the information: “It’s a real breath of fresh air for the sheikh. It was a great opportunity for him, because the Wathba Stud Farm, which he owns, adjoins that of the Ginai Stud Farm. He therefore did not hesitate to acquire it in order to deepen the exploitation. In addition, Fabrice Souloy is a friend and his father, Jacky, had done ingenious things in this magnificent place with, among other things, irrigation systems, lakes… In short, everything is now in place so that the horses are happy. As far as I’m concerned, I manage the European part of the structure. I am based in the Landes and I regularly go to La Teste to speak with the coaches who work for the sheikh. I also ride regularly at Chantilly, as well as at the stud farm, retirement has not yet come (laughs).”
