LFI withdraws Reda Belkadi’s investiture in Blois!

Officially, the NFP no longer has a candidate in Blois. It is through a press release coming directly from the national authorities of LFI that The news broke this Wednesday, June 27 in the afternoon. : “The electoral committee of La France Insoumise was informed today of tweets of an anti-Semitic nature published six years ago by a candidate nominated for the legislative elections.” The party explains having carried out verifications to determine whether Reda Belkadi had violated the commitment charter or not that each candidate had to sign, and in which he undertakes to “reject all sexist, racist, anti-Semitic, LGBTIphobic comments, behavior and violence and all discrimination”. This is how the electoral committee of La France Insoumise decided to withdraw its nomination from Reda Belkadi in the first constituency of Loir-et-Cher. He also announces that he will contact the committee for respect for principles “to obtain his immediate exclusion from La France Insoumise” also reaffirming “his absolute commitment to fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of racism.”

Reda Belkadi’s reaction

It was via his social networks that the defeated candidate chose to express himself this Wednesday afternoon: “I discovered, stunned, dozens of absolutely unacceptable tweets that I published several years ago. They reflect a cruel lack at that time of training and education concerning several issues, notably anti-Semitism” explains Reda Belkadi, specifying “to have evolved” and saying to himself “proud of the activist” what he has become. On the withdrawal of his investiture, he says he accepts it “with humility, in the context, it is a fair decision”. Finally, Reda Belkadi addresses ses excuses “to all those who may have been disappointed” by his past remarks which are, according to him, “the fruit of a young man without training, without political reference points, like so many in our country.” It is with these words that his explanation ends, without specifying whether or not he maintains his candidacy, or any possible indication of vote. But the Blesoise left is going through a big storm. PS 41 also announces that it is withdrawing its support. “We call for a blockade of the National Rally” tells Sweet FM its first secretary, Christophe Chapuis, who implicitly deplores the fact that Marc Gricourt’s candidacy was not accepted from the start.
