It’s official: production on season 4 of The Bridgerton Chronicle is launched! Netflix has just announced the names of several actors who are joining the cast, enough to deny a very important theory among fans for several years.
Get ready for a new, mind-blowing and addictive love story. After the success of its first series, Netflix had not only announced a season 2 for The Bridgerton Chroniclebut also seasons 3 and 4. Just three months after the release of the last episodes of the third salvo, dedicated to Colin and Penelope, filming will resume for the fourth season, which should not however arrive on Netflix before 2026. After confirming the face of the actress who will play Sophie, the platform lifts the veil on the sequel, with a few surprises in store. We first learned that a change was on the agenda for the female heroine and future wife of Benedict (Luke Thompson), but that’s not all!
Bridgerton : who is Sophie in Julia Quinn’s novel?
It’s been official for a little less than a week: actress Yerin Ha will play Sophie in season 4 of Bridgerton. Renamed Sophie Baek in this sequel, this young woman will catch Benedict’s eye during a costume party. The latter is far from suspecting that she is in fact a servant. In Julia Quinn’s novel, Sophie works for Araminta Penwood, who is in fact her mother-in-law. Since the beginning of Bridgertonfans were looking for clues about this character and some were convinced that it was actually Araminta Cowper, Cressida’s mother. As the Cowper storyline grew in importance in season 3, people seemed increasingly certain that Sophie would come from this family. Well, no! At the risk of disappointing fans, the writers went in a different direction.
Bridgerton : This fan theory won’t come true
Indeed, on its official website, Netflix announces the arrival of the cast of the fourth season of Bridgerton of three new actresses, including one will play Lady Araminta Gunwho will most likely be Sophie’s employer (and potentially her stepmother, unless the writers decided to stray from the novel’s plot). Araminta Gun is introduced as a woman “twice married and twice widowed” whose two daughters will make their debut in high society. This character will be played by Katie Leungseen in the saga Harry Potter. As if to confirm that this is the same character as in the books, we discover that Lady Araminta will have two daughters in the series: Rosamund and Posythe same first names as Sophie’s half-sisters in the literary saga. Rosamund will be played by Michelle Mao and is described as “beautiful, vain and ready to do anything to please her mother”. As for Posy, a younger and more pleasant young woman than her older sister, the role was given to Isabella Wei (seen in 1899 and soon to be featured in the Netflix series Black Doves).
