“Three years without dad”: Gaspard Ulliel’s ex and mother of his son publishes a heartbreaking message three years after his disappearance

On January 19, 2022, the world of cinema suddenly lost one of its most promising talents. Three years later, Gaëlle Pietri, Gaspard Ulliel’s ex-partner and mother of their son Orso, paid tribute to him on Instagram.

A heartbreaking message for the three years since the death of Gaspard Ulliel

On this sad anniversary, Gaëlle Pietri chose sobriety to express her emotion. In an Instagram story published on January 18, 2025, the former model shared these few moving words: “3 years without a dad for my son”accompanied by three candle emojis and a black heart. To underline the emotional impact of this tribute, she chose as background music the song “The Departure” by Max Richter, music particularly evocative of the void left by the actor’s absence.

The difficult journey of mourning for Orso, the son of Gaspard Ulliel

In May 2023, Gaëlle Pietri spoke about the mourning process for their son in the columns of Le Parisien. “Orso is doing much better. The first year was extremely complicated, he was very angry. He had to spend all these first times without his father: Christmas, his birthday, the start of school…”she revealed.

The mother also addressed her son’s questions: “Orso regularly asks me what would happen if something happened to me. I refuse to tell him that I will always be there. I don’t want to lie to him, and even more so since the tragedy.” A gradual calm has nevertheless set in, as she pointed out: “For three months, he has become more peaceful and perhaps I am too.”

The memory of Gaspard Ulliel

The memory of Gaspard Ulliel continues to live on through the testimonies of his loved ones. Léa Seydoux notably shared with emotion the last voice message received from the actor: “He told me: ‘I’m not saying that because we’re going to work together. I just wanted to tell you that I was very impressed.” The actress added with emotion: “It was a very, very kind message. It was the last thing we shared.”

To cope with this loss, Gaëlle Pietri chose to write down her words in a book, “Time to say goodbye”published by Editions Grasset, where she evokes not only her mourning but also the legacy left by the man who was her companion for seven years.
