On the occasion of the documentary Laure! Laure! Laure ! broadcast this Sunday January 19 on Canal+, Laure Manaudou's father spoke in The Parisian. He then returned to the particularly painful episode of the stolen photos.
“Parents are there for life!“Jean-Luc Manaudou did not mince his words in the columns of Parisian this January 19. The father of Nicolas, Laure and Florent Manaudou gave an interview to the daily newspaper before the broadcast of the documentary Laure! Laure! Laure !, this Sunday January 19 on Canal+. Estranged from his daughter for part of her adolescence, while the budding champion lived with her trainer Philippe Lucas, Jean-Luc Manaudou insists: Laure and her brothers have always been able to count on their parents. “What more could we have done? […] They have a different life but that is not why the personal parent-child relationship changes. They know we're there if there's a big, big problem“, he explains.
Jean-Luc Manaudou then returns to a particularly painful moment in Laure's life. In 2007, her intimate photos were revealed by one of her former lovers. The young woman hardly bears the blow. But she can then rely on her parents, explains her father: “She came back because there wasn't much left available to her [après son départ d’Italie ] and the pillar was the family. Maybe eighteen years later it feels different, but that's how it felt.“A step which allowed the athlete to rebuild herself. Since then, the young mother has been”finally blossomed“, testifies his brother Florent in this documentary event, “It was time.“

I just didn't know when it was going to come out.” However, when the fateful moment falls, the young woman collapses: “I only thought of one thing: I am bringing shame to my family..” Betrayed by an ex-lover, Laure Manaudou remembers incredible violence: “It's complicated to live with because, for me, it's like rape. Today, it's trivialized because it happens a lot. But at that time, I was one of the first.“The sportswoman, who has since rebuilt herself, still manages to put things into perspective:”I show everyone the way. If it can be of use to anyone, so much the better.”
