“We will not shy away from our responsibilities”. The South Winners association looks back on the fight in the stands which marked the Coupe de France match between OM and Lille at the Vélodrome stadium on January 14.
-In a press release published on Saturday January 18, the supporters club explains that, upon learning that one of their members had been attacked, they are “came down to get an explanation of the situation, which led to the unfortunate events that followed“.
The alleged victim was in fact the aggressor and instigator of the brawl, the statement said, acknowledging that the South Winners’ intervention was “illegitimate and meaningless“.
The supporter who lied apologized to OM and the people concerned. He was expelled from the South Winners.
The group of supporters also apologizes to the Ultras and Olympique de Marseille for “this very sad spectacle“.
