Analysis of the day: As we enter the second half of the LaLiga Segunda División season, the fight for promotion is more relevant than ever, with several teams poised to finish on a high. The future looks particularly bright for Almería, which has managed to establish itself as a serious contender for promotion. By closely following various matches in the division, it is clear that one promotion place seems already secured, while another remains to be conquered.
Under coach Rubi, Almería have established themselves as leaders, supported by a strong team that has gained confidence at this stage of the season. Elche appears to be a potential opponent, but with the transfer window still open, the numbers should evolve, leaving room for unexpected bursts from other teams. Although my personal preference is Almería, it is important to recognize the potential disruptions that could occur. Their roster is loaded with talent, making them a popular choice for promotion. New reinforcements could transform their season into a truly masterful campaign.
I also have a certain affection for Elche, while Málaga follows closely. The Malaguenes, with their impressive resilience, have managed to avoid heavy defeats, and if they find their offensive game, they could become a serious threat. Elche’s rise is not surprising; like Almería, they are climbing the rankings with a competent coach and strong players. Likewise, teams like Racing, Levante, Mirandés, Real Oviedo and Sporting remain threats, but ultimately Almería holds the key to success in this battle.
I am convinced that Almería deserves its place in the Primera División. If promotion escaped them, it would be as painful as relegation. They have all the assets necessary to succeed, and with skillful reinforcements, they can make a significant leap to the top. Their strength is superior, constantly showing abilities that exceed those usually observed in Segunda. Improvements in their defensive game add depth to their already formidable offense. With sufficient resources to adjust their squad, they present a strong argument for promotion. The entire league is aware of their abilities, with the expectations set at the start of the season having largely been met.
-It is evident that Almería embody the substantial promise anticipated last summer when they were announced as the favourites. Despite discussions around a Segunda comprising 18 Primera clubs, Turki Al-Sheikh’s team is shattering records thanks to a daring and attacking style of play. Having gone on a winning streak, they are constantly impressing across the division. With an improved defensive structure and scoring ability, victories become frequent. Coach Rubi is right – the team is charting its own path, much to the delight of their fans.
The unpredictability of the Segunda remains, but it is clear that the best team in the league wears the red and white colors, ably led by Rubi. Looking for a direct promotion partner, Elche appear ready to capitalize on the momentum carried by Almería, potentially joining them in this thrilling adventure. Don’t rule out Málaga though; supported by a passionate audience of 30,000 people at La Rosaleda, they provide an enjoyable competitive spectacle. If they could translate their efforts into goals, they could well find themselves just behind Almería. With numerous draws and only three defeats, Pellicer’s team could well surprise in the race for direct promotion. However, they will have to string together an impressive series that their squad could struggle to achieve.
