Two days after his arrest in , the suspect in the murder committed in Blosne on Thursday January 2, 2025 was referred to the public prosecutor’s office.

Frédéric Teillet, public prosecutor, returned to the facts and the reason for this deadly attack via a press release addressed to the media.

The scene therefore dates back to January 2. “Around 8:40 p.m., the Rennes police station was requested by the firefighters for a person found injured by a knife, square de Slovakie”, recalls the magistrate.

Despite resuscitation attempts, the 22-year-old man died. On site, no weapon was found.

The next day, the autopsy confirmed that “the death was due to the stab wound that the victim had in the chest”.

A dispute between the two protagonists

The investigation entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (Dcos) makes it possible to trace “the trail of another young man with whom the victim had a dispute since the two were placed in police custody together, a few days earlier in Morbihan,” reveals Frédéric Teillet.

A witness claims that the victim, whose vehicle had been set on fire the day before, wanted to settle scores with this other individual and went to the latter’s home. It was at the bottom of this building that the events took place.

The suspect was located in the south of and a search warrant was issued by the Rennes public prosecutor’s office. The staff of the Bac (Anti-Crime Brigade) of Marseille were able to find him andquestion, Saturday January 4.

The accused already convicted and under electronic bracelet

The suspect was brought back to Rennes in order to be referred to the courthouse, Monday January 6 “to be indicted for murder.”

The Judge of Liberties and Detention placed him in pre-trial detention in accordance with the request of the prosecution.

Before the investigating judge, “the accused admitted to having had a dispute with the victim and to having set his car on fire. On the day of the incident, he indicated that it was the victim who attacked him and that if he hit him with an iron rod found on site, it was in self-defense and without intention to kill her,” continues the Rennes prosecutor.

The magistrate also reveals that the author of the murder, aged 22 ans, is “particularly known to the judicial authority for all types of offenses (attacks on property and people, traffic offenses, drug trafficking).”

His last conviction by the Rennes court dates back to July 19, 2024. He then received a sentence of 10 months imprisonment “completely designed in the form of an electronic bracelet”.

For his part, the victim was also known to the courts and “convicted on multiple occasions for traffic offenses, and attacks on property and people between 2022 and 2024”, concludes Frédéric Teillet.
