At the beginning of the afternoon, Saturday January 4, 2025, the firefighters of Eure intervened after a fire in a building of three floors, in Val-de-Reuil (Eure), located at 34, Voie Boréale.
The flames broke out in the common areas of the building. “It was a trash fire,” the Eure departmental fire and rescue operational center (CODIS) told La Dépêche de Louviers.
Sixteen people and two dogs evacuated
No casualties were reported, but the 26 firefighters deployed on site evacuated the residents present in the building at the time of the fire. There were eleven adults, five children and two dogs.
Despite the damage caused by the fire in the common areas, the tenants were able to return to their homes after the intervention of the firefighters.
A police investigation is underway. The causes of the fire remain undetermined, although the national police assume that “the fire did not start on its own”.
