The registration document is an inevitable expense when buying a new or used car. Seeking to guarantee sufficient revenue, the regions have decided to increase the tax rates. Some increases even bring the price to the legal maximum.
Up to 60 euros per tax horse! This is indeed the new rate in force in certain French regions.
Up to 40% increase
Among the regions now applying the maximum rate for a tax horse, we find Normandy and the Centre-Val de Loire region. In Normandy, the cost of a tax horse increased from 46 to 60 euros, an increase of almost 40%.
Thus, the price of a registration document for a small car with 5 horsepower increases from 230 to 300 euros. The difference in cost between the old and new price of the registration card increases all the more as the car is fiscally powerful.
Please note, the Grand Est and Brittany regions will also increase to €60 from February 1.
