BEVERLY HILLS, California (Reuters) – The feature film “Emilia Perez”, directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, won the Golden Globe for best comedy or musical on Sunday in Beverly Hills, near Los Angeles, as well as that of best foreign language film.

During the ceremony, a traditional prelude to the Oscars, Zoe Saldana was crowned best supporting actress for her performance in “Emilia Perez”, in which she plays a lawyer who will help the leader of a Mexican cartel to change his life and of sex.

“My heart is filled with gratitude for the Golden Globes for celebrating our film,” said the actress, moved to tears, after receiving her award on stage, thanking her acting partners and her director.

The Golden Globe for best drama film was awarded to “The Brutalist”, which tells the story of a Holocaust survivor in search of the American dream and whose lead actor (Adrian Brody) and director (Brady Corbet ) were also rewarded.

Demi Moore won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in “The Substance,” directed by French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat.
