Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Sunday that Hamas had not provided him with a list of Israeli hostages to be released.
JERUSALEM, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Sunday that Hamas had not provided him with a list of Israeli hostages to be released.
“Hamas has not provided us with a list of names of (Israeli) hostages at this time,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement, denying media allegations that a Hamas official had announced that the group agreed to release 34 hostages.
Israeli public channel Kan TV reported on Sunday that Mossad Director David Barnea would travel to Qatar tomorrow to participate in ongoing negotiations on the ceasefire in Gaza.
On Thursday, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement said Palestinian factions needed a week to prepare and publish a list of Israeli hostages to be exchanged in the first phase of a possible ceasefire deal.
