While filming a live video, a 25-year-old influencer was bitten by a rattlesnake whose venom is deadly.
David Orin, an influencer specializing in wildlife on the networks, lived through a real nightmare. On December 18, the 25-year-old went to Shired Island in Florida in the United States to go herping.
Herping involves searching for amphibians and reptiles in the wild.
“I’m about to lose my ability to walk.”
While the young influencer was with three of his friends, an Eastern Diamond Rattlesnake, a deadly snake, approximately 1 m2 bit him on the leg: “Well, I’m done. It’s a fantastic Eastern Diamond Rattlesnake that just bit me on the leg because I didn’t notice it when I was removing the bark.”he explains calmly under the eyes of his frightened comrades, relates The Independant.
“Okay, I’m about to lose my ability to walk, so let’s get back to the car”continues the young star, followed by 1.4 million people on Instagram and more than 2.3 million on TikTok. He also specified that the rattlesnake was “the worst snake you can be bitten by in Florida.”
The 25-year-old’s health quickly began to deteriorate. He described symptoms of anaphylactic shock that left him paralyzed from the head down.
The influencer said that his shin – the place where the snake had sunk its teeth – “seemed about to explode.”

The young man was then flown to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where he was given ten vials of antivenom as his leg swelled and began to bruise badly, says The Independent.
His wife filmed him on his hospital bed: “I’m afraid I’m going to die, but I hope I don’t”he explains in a video published on the networks
Since New Year’s Day, the 25-year-old is still in hospital and is entering his fifteenth day of medical treatment, according to his wife Emma Rynear. She filmed the star walking inside the hospital on crutches while her leg is still inflamed and discolored. Both hope that the young man will be able to regain the mobility of his limb.
The influencer has seen his follower count skyrocket online since he began posting his videos in which he typically handles venomous reptiles and amphibians. This is not the first time that the star has been bitten.
