Fenerbahçe coach José Mourinho broke new ground this season by making surprising choices in Hatayspor’s first 11 matches on Matchday 18 of the Trendyol Super League.
LEVENT MERCAN AT 11 YEARS OLD FOR THE FIRST TIME
The Portuguese coach placed Levent Mercan, who was transferred at the start of the season and who did not give him much playing time, in the starting lineup for the first time this season. The 24-year-old footballer has only featured in 2 matches this season.
DZEKO AND EN-NEIZRI AT THE SAME TIME
Mourinho played the duo Edin Dzeko and Youssef En-Nesyri in his line. The experienced coach said: “We were able to train 9 days in a row. Difficult to find this in peak season. We worked hard. We improved some things, tried to add new things. Today, for example, Dzeko and En-Nesyri will start together. We didn’t have much luck trying this. “Because Youssef was not able to join us immediately at the start of the season,” he explained.
KALE IS INSURED IN İRFAN CAN
On the other hand, İrfan Can Eğribayat protects the goal of the dark yellow-blue team in the Hatayspor match. Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic is not even in the squad for the match, saying he is not ready. Among the substitutes is Ertuğrul Çetin as goalkeeper.
MAXIMIN IS NOT IN THE TEAM
Additionally, Allan Saint-Maximin of Fenerbahçe was not included in the match squad as a precautionary measure due to slight soreness. Oğuz Aydın is not part of the match squad as he is not ready to return from injury. Samet Akaydin and İsmail Yüksek, Fenerbahçe’s other injured players, are not part of the squad for the match against Hatayspor.
