CDM Cyclo-cross: Wout van Aert confirms in Dendermonde

In the absence of the injured Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert won the ninth round of the Cyclo-cross World Cup.

Wout van Aert won the Cyclo-cross World Cup in Dendermonde this Sunday. On the very muddy Dendermonde circuit, the Visma rider made the difference in the third lap by distancing Emiel Vestrynge. The Belgian wins for the second time in two days and is full of confidence. Verstrynge takes second place, ahead of Joran Wysure, who completes the podium. 5th, Michael Vanthourenhout retains the lead in the general classification.

Like Wout van Aert, Lucinda Brand scored a second victory in two days. The Dutchwoman took over Puck Pieterse, who had made the best start, before distancing her. On the podium, Brand is ahead of Puck Pieterse and world champion Fem van Empel. In the general classification, the Dutch champion consolidates her leadership position.
