We have been waiting for them for some time now, ASRock’s PG27FFX2A and PG27FFX1B gaming screens have just been officially launched by the manufacturer. Not too soon, some would say: the PG27FFX2A was in fact quickly presented in 2023 then (re)unveiled at CES last year.
The main advantage of these two 27-inch diagonal gaming screens lies in their particularly high refresh rate of 520 Hzwith a response time of 1 ms. They therefore come into competition with the model that ViewSonic plans to present at CES in a few days. But where the ViewSonic model benefits from an OLED panel, these PG27FFX2A et PG27FFX1B must for their part “settle” for an IPS panel with more traditional WLED backlighting. Fun details, this refresh rate is only achievable under Windows 11: the previous version of Microsoft’s OS being a priori limited to “only” 500 Hz.

Two almost identical gaming screens
Another difference, these two Phantom Gaming screensASRock must be satisfied with a Full HD definition while the ViewSonic screen can a priori go up to WQHD. Both models are additionally VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and support AMD FreeSync Premium technology. They offer 94% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and 123% of the sRGB gamut, with viewing angles of 178°. The contrast ratio reaches 1000:1, for a brightness peaking at 400 cd/m².
The connectivity is also identical between the two models: there are two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a headphone output (two small 2W speakers are also integrated), two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and a USB 3.2 port Gen1 Type-B. On the other hand, only the PG27FFX2A can be adjusted in height by 10 cm, tilt (-5° to +20°) and rotation (-20° to +20°). It is also the only one of the two models to integrate a WiFi antenna, a relatively anecdotal feature in practice.
The manufacturer has not yet announced prices for these two 27-inch IPS gaming screens at 520 Hz, but if we base ourselves on the price of the AGON AG276FK which has extremely similar characteristics, we can expect a bill which will be around 600 euros.
