Press release from the Prefecture of Côte d’Or
Following the episode of freezing rain which affected our department yesterday between 4 p.m. and midnight, traffic conditions have returned to normal across the entire network, confirmed by APRR, the Côte-d’Or departmental council and Dijon Metropolis.
The balance sheet is as follows:
– road traffic was very disrupted with:
* a ban on driving (by zonal and prefectural decree) between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. for heavy goods vehicles over 7.5 T on the A31, A36, A39, A6, A38 and M274 (Dijon ring road).
* A 16 km portion of the A38 motorway (La Côte-d’Orienne) between Pouilly en Auxois and Sombernon closed to all traffic for several hours.
* In Dijon, trams and buses stop for several hours
In terms of interventions, there were numerous ones both from the rescue forces (Firefighters, SAMU) and from the gendarmerie and police.
On the road, we counted:
– 51 material accidents,
– 16 injury accidents with 31 injuries (including 13 on the motorway network: 6 on A31, 3 on A6, 1 on A38 and 3 on A36)
– and unfortunately 1 fatal accident in Merceuil on the A6 in the North South direction, with one person dead and 5 injured evacuated to the university hospital.
on the relief side,
– 16 rescue and emergency care for people were carried out by the SDIS which carried out a total of 40 interventions.
The prefect would like to salute all the services which were mobilized in the management of this weather episode (law enforcement, emergency services, prefecture agents, DDT) as well as the local authorities and partners in charge of managing the roads: Departmental Council, Metropolis and APRR.
