A successful journey through time
And when the credits started, almost identical to the original, it was off again, like 20 years ago. That moment when everything stopped in our lives as children or teenagers. Where, at 7 p.m., the whole family gathered to share half an hour of laughter, games and flashy colors. The Bigdil was above all a real family event.
But if the essence of the show has not changed one bit, some adjustments have still been made. From now on, there are only two gafettes instead of four, and Vincent Lagaf’ has swapped his eccentric costumes for more sober outfits. But don’t worry, his humor is still there. We even saw him twerking after a few minutes!
Bigdil is back on TV: what about the Gaffettes who accompanied Vincent Lagaf’?
Bill hasn’t changed one iota. Always played by Gilles Vautier, he remains this intransigent and stingy Martian that we love to hate.
As for the games, everything is there: the tests of the time, the mystery boxes containing gifts, opened by the gafettes; the curtain revealing sometimes improbable prizes, such as a scooter, a car or even a cruise; and of course, the anonymous candidates, who make us laugh as much as they touch us.
A dynamic still as captivating as ever
Despite its move to prime time, once a week, the magic still happens. The recipe for success remains unchanged: a human-sized audience, simple but effective games, and above all this good-natured atmosphere which takes us away from everyday life. And to add a little novelty, Attila, Bill’s dog, has joined the gang. It also allowed the first candidate to win the jackpot: the car!
Vincent Lagaf’ and the unexpected success of “Bo le lavabo”, the song that no one wanted
And soon in Belgium
The figures don’t lie: with 1.8 million viewers on average on RMC Story, the bigdil succeeded in his bet. The channel rose to fourth place in national audiences and even took first place among housewives, 25-49 year olds, and children aged 4 to 14. Enough to prove that nostalgia is sometimes good, and even attracts new generations!
Finally, if the DH had the opportunity to see this first episode in full, we will still have to wait to see the show land on a Belgian channel. But don’t panic: the bigdil will soon arrive on RTL-TVI. With such success in France, there is no doubt that the Belgian chain is already rubbing its hands!
