. A tour of passing all the Vauban sites, Frédéric Parise's new sporting and solidarity challenge – : all the local information

Frédéric Parise

His ascent of the Perserajuk massif in Greenland in 2022, accompanied by a young amputee, received considerable media attention. The memories of this experience are unforgettable, still very intense. Since then, Frédéric Parise has been thinking about a new sporting challenge, always for the benefit of the Bout de Vie association, which he has supported from the start. “I am faithful, like in football with Montfaucon and Racing (Besançon)”, smiles the person concerned, who in April 2024 had put the FCMMGV in touch with the French amputee football team, for a special day.

The Vauban network, partner of the operation

His friend Lionel, companion on several previous challenges, imagined a new challenge: a tour of by bike. “From France, because it’s really about cycling as close as possible to the borders and the coast, all around the metropolis as the competition did at the beginning of the 20th century. »underlines Frédéric Parise. A 6,400 kilometer journey completed in two and a half months with a departure scheduled for the 1is May for an arrival on July 14, 2025. 82 stages for 55,600 meters of elevation gain. The journey will be supported by the Vauban network, contacted by the duo to support the operation. “In discussing with the director about a departure from the Citadel, we said to ourselves that visiting all the sites would give great visibility to this challenge. »underlines Frédéric Parise.

“Sell your kilometers” to raise €13,000

Behind the sporting objective, the two cyclists hope to raise €13,000 for the Bout de Vie association. Far from being trivial, this sum estimated by its president Frank Bruno would make it possible to organize a unique trip for a group of amputees supported by the association. “ It is planned for 2025 or 2026, the project is still in preparation »slips Frédéric Parise. “On board a sailboat, the crew would sail across the Arctic Ocean. It fascinates me, so I am doing everything I can to recover this sum by “selling” each kilometer of this tour of France at the price of €2. » The duo of cyclists have already collected almost half and are using several means to achieve their objective: in addition to sponsoring these kilometers, donations from individuals and profits linked to the sale of Threebu beer are increasing the prize pool. At almost 61 years old, Frédéric Parise still rushes forward with the same desire and assures him: this will not be his last challenge.
