Two women died this Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in the same sector of the Pyrenees located in Haute-Garonne, in Occitanie. The accidents took place within hours of each other.

Sportswoman, trail enthusiast
The first accident took place early in the morning in Boutx. Juliana, 34, had gone hiking, accompanied by two other people with insufficient equipment according to the CRS at the Luchon aid station in Haute-Garonne. She lost her balance and died after falling 300 meters. The helicopter from the aerial section of the Tarbes gendarmerie found her unresponsive. She leaves behind a 5-year-old little girl and her partner, the child's father, relates The Dispatch.

The second accident also occurred near the Cagire peak, in the commune of Arguenos. Florence, 46, who left with her partner, killed herself in the same circumstances. She unscrewed on a ridge. Around 2:45 p.m., emergency services found his lifeless body. A mother too, she was originally from Tarn.
The Saint-Gaudens public prosecutor's office requested autopsies to determine the exact causes of these two deaths. She was entrusted to the CRS of Luchon.
