The man who allegedly rented the Tesla Cybertruck vehicle that exploded Wednesday in front of Donald Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas was an active member of the American army.

Authorities identified the man as Matthew Alan Livelsberger. Identification papers were reportedly found in the vehicle.

In a statement Thursday, the US military confirmed Livelsberger’s death, but did not specify the cause.

The suspect had a gunshot wound to the head, the Las Vegas sheriff said Thursday.
