A woman who disappeared in 1972 was found “alive and in good health”, marking the end of one of the longest disappearance cases across the Channel.

As told by The Guardian newspaper, Sheila Fox, now 68 years old, disappeared in 1972, when she was only 16 years old.

“Alive and healthy”

Thanks to information communicated after the broadcast of the call for witnesses, the police were able to find the trace of the missing woman, “alive and in good health”, who had since lived “in another region of the country”, reports the British media .

“We are delighted to announce the conclusion of one of the longest missing persons investigations carried out by West Midlands Police,” a local police spokesperson said.

“A single photo of Sheila dating from the time of her disappearance was found by investigators and published on our website and on social networks. A few hours after the call, information from witnesses allowed the team to find her,” he adds, according to The Guardian.
