President-elect Donald Trump responded to the tragedy in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Wednesday.
He made a connection with illegal immigration.
The Republican added that the crime rate in the United States has reached an unprecedented level.
Donald Trump says his heart goes out to the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the courageous New Orleans police officers.
“Our hearts go out to the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave New Orleans police officers. The Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans in its investigation and recovery from this act of pure evil!”
He went on to say that the Trump administration will fully support the city in its investigation and recovery.
Biden and Trudeau’s remarks
For his part, President Joe Biden thanked the emergency services.
“I have directed my team to ensure all resources are available while federal, state and local law enforcement works diligently to get to the bottom of what happened as quickly as possible and to ensure that there is no further threat of any kind.”
He said he asked his team to make all resources available during the investigation.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also reacted to this tragedy.
“What happened in New Orleans last night was absolutely terrible. My thoughts go out to the victims’ loved ones, to all those struggling to recover, and to all those affected by this senseless act of violence.”
Remember that at least ten people were killed and 35 others injured in a car-ramming attack in New Orleans.
