The Carmelite cinema in Orléans () is organizing a screening of the film “The Last Breath”. A film that brings together Kad Merad and Denis Podalydès on screenfollowed by a meeting with its director: Costa-Gavras.

Indeed, the Franco-Greek director will go Thursday January 9, 2025 at the Carmes cinema in from 7:30 p.m. in Orléans.

Costa-Gavras was able to represent on numerous occasions during his career. First with his first success “Z”, with which he received the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar for best foreign film in 1969.

His career also took him to the Berlin Golden Bear ceremony, where he received the prize in 1990 for his feature film “ Box”. He also caused a sensation with his latest film “Adults in the room” in 2019, revealing behind the scenes of a country in crisis within the European Union.

A dialogue about the end of life

For his new film, the Franco-Greek director addresses the subject of end of life through the arrival of a philosopher, Denis Podalydès, in a hospital whose representative, Doctor Augustin Masset, is played by Kad Merad.

Carried away by a whirlwind of visits and meetings, the two begin a sensitive journey between laughter and tears: a human adventure at the heart of all of our lives.
