the essential
As elsewhere in Aveyron, the end of 2024 was not easy for the emergency services in the Decazeville Basin.
Accidents due to ice, fire, falls: the end of 2024 was not easy for the emergency services in the Decazeville Basin.
As early as 6 a.m. on Monday, the ice caused people to leave the road on avenue Prosper-Alfaric, near the Bellevue roundabout. A vehicle driven by a 44-year-old woman from Agnac ended up on its roof. Shocked, the driver suffering from bruises was taken by emergency services to the nearby hospital center for check-ups.
Still icy, avenue de Rodez in Decazeville, where on Tuesday afternoon a 57-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle, which ended up hitting a parked vehicle. Shocked, the driver was transported by firefighters to the city hospital for check-ups.
Just like this young driver aged 20, whose slippery road caused him to lose control of his vehicle, Tuesday around 7 p.m. on the RD 963 near Bouquiès in Decazeville.
As in other most exposed places, the town of Decazeville spread pozzolan and “melting” product.
Start of fire in Aubin
The Decazeville emergency room received several patients during New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve, but none required transfer to another establishment.
Firefighters and police intervened around 8 p.m. for a fire in a house in the Cité de Duc in Aubin. Part of the roof was impacted, as well as the attic, following a fire in a heat accumulator. Maxime Gaillac, an elected official from Aubin, went there to study a possible temporary rehousing solution.
The Basin firefighters also intervened on several occasions, notably for the fall of a person in Vaureilles.
Apart from these accidents and fire, New Year's Eve in the Decazeville Basin still went well overall; notably with the traditional big New Year's Eve in Viviez which attracted several hundred guests who took the plunge into the new year together.
