600 to 900 jobs cut at Proximus by 2027: “It will not be a social plan like in 2019”

1. +3 € on the overwhelming majority of Proximus packs

From old to new, les packs Next are generally hit with an increase of €3 per month on January 1, 2025. Those who cling to an old formula are even more the turkeys of the joke. Example :

  • Old Minimus Internet + pack: €73.49 per month, €76.49 from 01/01/2025.
  • Current Flex S Internet + TV pack: €72.99 per month, €75.99 per month from 01/01/2025.

The difference is minimal, but symbolic.

2. +2€ for the Pickx Sports TV Option

The UEFA Champions League is the jewel of the Pickx Sports crown, the sports bouquet whose price rises seriously on 01/01/2025, from €18.99 to €20.99 per month. Or €24 per year.

3. The end of the reduction on the first TV Option

It's over. Proximus no longer grants the popular reduction of €0.99 per month on the first TV Option grafted to a pack. Among these TV Options, we find Netflix subscriptions, Pickx Mix, Pickx All Stars or even… Pickx Sports.

4. Internet and nothing else doubly punished

In renewed form, the “only” Internet connection is sanctioned also. For the entry-level Internet Essential subscription, it’s a double whammy. The formula has no longer been marketed since November 1, 2024 and customers who continue to benefit from it pay €29.99 per month from 01/01/2025, instead of €28.

5. The landline crosses the €30 mark

The 87,000 customers of Proximus' Phone Line landline alone will note with horror that the monthly bill peaks at €31.13 per month from 01/01/2025, compared to €29.13. This €2 extra per month, also imposed on holders of the reduced rate for social reasons, is a way to scratch approximately €2 million over one year.

Status quo at Scarlet and Mobile Vikings

No increase in prices is currently planned at Scarlet and Mobile Vikings, the two Proximus subsidiaries. Faced with the DIGI threat, Mobile Viking is counting on an increase in monthly data volumes on its mobile subscriptions. An increase in data volumes should appear at Scarlet during the month of January 2025.
