Tennis, WTA – Tournoi de Brisbane 2025 : Potapova bat Yastremska
Russian Anastasia Potapova reached the round of 16 of the WTA 500 in Brisbane, eliminating Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, seeded n°16 (7-5, 6-4), at the Queensland Tennis Center on Tuesday night.
Potapova, 35th player in the world at the WTA, will have a chance to play in the next round since she will be opposed to Australian wild card Kimberly Birrell, winner of 8th world player Emma Navarro, during the round of 16 of the Queensland tournament.
The Russian had benefited from the abandonment of Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan (2-6, 6-4, 2-0 ab.), in the previous round of the Brisbane Open.
