Saturday December 28, Gilles Marcuzzo, a 58-year-old man, was fatally injured with a knife by his partner at their home in Pujols. His wife, aged 50, was then arrested and taken into police custody. At the end of the period of deprivation of liberty, which had been extended by 24 hours on Sunday December 29, the accused was referred to the Agen judicial court on Monday December 30 at the end of the afternoon. An investigating judge was contacted and the investigating magistrate proceeded to question him.

The fifty-year-old was then indicted “for having voluntarily killed” her companion, “with the circumstance that the acts were committed by the victim's spouse or common-law partner”, reports the Agen prosecutor's office in a press release. . She is therefore being prosecuted for intentional homicide by a spouse, that is to say aggravated murder.
“Similarly, and in accordance with the requisitions to this effect from the magistrate of the Agen public prosecutor's office who supported this position before the judge of freedoms and detention, the indictment was placed in pre-trial detention,” adds the prosecutor of the Republic of Agen Olivier Naboulet.

Three days after the events, which caused great emotion in Villeneuvois where the victim was very well known, incomprehension dominates. Many questions still remain unanswered.
