After a successful first edition this year, the Marpent media library is repeating its literary prize. Registrations are already open.
Faced with the success of the first edition in 2024 of the Oiseau Lyre prize, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the media library, those responsible for the building, led by Laure Despriet, the advisor responsible for culture, decided to organize a second edition in 2025.
Second edition of the prize
“With the aim of giving a helping hand to authors and promoting reading“, as Madame Despriet indicates, this second competition will be reserved for authors from Sambre-Avesnois and will particularly target the genre of the novel.
To participate, authors must make themselves known before the end of June, the deadline for submitting applications, in order to submit their book written in the last three years.
In 2024, 7 authors from the region joined the first edition with the aim of promoting their work.
The jury will once again be made up of around ten people, members of the board of directors of the media library, elected officials but also readers. A call is also launched to come and dial it. The scoring criteria are quite simple such as spelling, layout or even plot and presentation.
The estate of Florian Perrot and his work “L’Héritage” is now open. It remains to be seen who will leave in 2025 with the Lyre Bird prize.
