It’s a plane that doesn’t go unnoticed from the Promenade des Anglais. A imposing Boeing 747 parked this Tuesday near terminal 1 on the tarmac of Nice Côte d’Azur airport.
A plane that stands out. And for good reason. Unlike the other visible aircraft, and the “small” jets that surround it, this one does not bear the name of any airline. It is distinguished in particular by the white and red flag that adorns its drift.
A royal fleet accustomed to coming to station in Nice
The plane actually belongs to the royal fleet of Bahrain and comes from Saudi Arabia, according to specialized sites.
In the past, the Boeing 747-4P8, one of the 5 planes that make up this fleet, had already landed in Nice. Particularly in August 2022, as spotted by a local plane spotter.
A few weeks later, another Boeing from the royal fleet, just as imposing, was parked for several days on the Riviera tarmac. It was already one of the two private planes of Sheikh Hamad Ben Issa Al-Khalifa.
