A few hours before New Year’s Eve, the Tarn-et-Garonne firefighters are engaged in a large house fire in Bruniquel. The fire broke out around 7:15 p.m. in an empty wooden house. At 9:30 p.m., the fire was brought under control, announced the departmental fire and rescue operational center.

This Tuesday, December 31 at 7:13 p.m., the Codis alert processing center (CTA) (fire and rescue operational center) received a call for a house fire in the town of Bruniquel. Residents of Chemin du Pech saw flames escaping from the roof of a wooden house bordering this municipal road.
The home was empty of occupants during this holiday season. Large firefighting resources converged on Bruniquel, one of the most beautiful villages in France famous for its castles. Under the authority of a column leader from SDIS 82, twenty-six personnel from the Caussade, Nègrepelisse, Monclar-de-Quercy, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Corbarieu and Montauban emergency centers were involved in this intervention. .
Two water lances were put into action with one objective: to prevent the flames from devouring the entire house, built entirely of wood, covering an area of 100 m2. After more than two hours of struggle, the firefighters gained control of the fire. The gendarmerie launched a patrol to make initial findings. The mayor of Bruniquel Christiane Soulié was on site as well as a team from Enedis. At 10 p.m., emergency services were still engaged.
