Catherine Chaillet, a talented personality
Born in 1933 in Paris, this talented stylist and designer left her mark on her era with her creations. A graduate of Fine Arts in 1953, she quickly established herself in the world of design and fashion in the late 1960s. Among her notable works, she created the “bag”Constance” for Hermès, named in homage to his daughter.
In 1971, she was asked to design the brand image of the Third Channel. From 1975 to 1981, she imagined the first graphic identity of TF1 after its transformation into the first private channel. She has also contributed to iconic shows like Automotive, 30 Million friends et The Spectator Sequence.
Catherine Chaillet also innovated by imagining the animated series Tifinsbroadcast before the television news. The TF1 logo that she had conceptualized, accompanied by music composed by Vladimir Cosma, was used for several years before being replaced in the 1990s.
Apart from TF1, she also created the first logos for Chérie FM in 1987 and Vivendi in 1998.
