New Year near Nice. Fireworks, balls and music: here's when and where

Only a few days left before we move on to the year 2025. For those who are still wondering what they can do, there is a solution: why not take part in the municipal festivities?

In the Alpes-Maritimes, several towns organize shows and gatherings at the dawn of the new year. If no fireworks will be set off in Nice, at least here is where other events are organized.

Cannes, December 31

Fireworks will be set off in the bay of Cannes at midnight sharp. A way to pass the milestone from the year 2024 to the year 2025 under a shower of lights. This year, the City chose the theme “Dolce Vita”. The show will last 20 minutes.

Antibes, January 1st

In Antibes, the party continues until the day after the New Year. Antibes residents and tourists from elsewhere are invited to go to the public beach of Juan-les-Pins on Wednesday January 1 at 6 p.m. On the program, no fireworks but a drone show lasting 13 minutes.

Parking and traffic restrictions are planned before and during the event. These are detailed on the City website.

Although the evening should be clear, the City still warns: in the event of bad weather, no postponement date is planned.

The 31st in the snow

Several towns, as well as ski resorts, also offer activities for the transition to the new year. HAS Isola 2000the program will last between 6 and 9 p.m., with fireworks or a torchlight descent on the snow front with ESF instructors.

The program will be similar to Auron, from 6 p.m. Two “dance parties” with DJ are planned from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Not far away, Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée, Mass will take place at 6:30 p.m. then the burning of the bell tower at 7:30 p.m.

Valberg et La Colmiane are not left. In Valberg, the New Year festivities are organized in two stages on the Garibeuil snow front. Between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., then between 11 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., a DJ will provide the atmosphere. At La Colmiane, the traditional glass of friendship – wine or hot chocolate – will be shared from 5 p.m. A fireworks display is also announced.
