Nintendo reveals the Top 30 most downloaded games in Japan on the eShop in 2024

The year 2024 ends and Nintendo reveals the ranking of the most downloaded games of the year in Japan. The first place is not occupied by a Dragon Quest nor by a Nintendo game, but by Suika Gamethe phenomenon which marked a large part of the year. The podium is completed by Exit 8 et Overcooked! 2.

DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake rises to 4th position. On the side of Nintendothe Japanese company is quite widely represented even if the minimum has been done. On the Japanese eShop, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom becomes the most downloaded Nintendo game, occupying 7th position. Super Mario Party Jamboree follows closely in 8th place. These two titles are the only Nintendo games to make the top 10.

A little further down the ranking, we find two essentials for the Nintendo Switch: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (12th) and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (13th). Splatoon 3which continues to appeal to Japanese audiences, ranks 15th. He is followed by Super Mario Bros. Wonder in 16th position and Paper Mario: The Millennium Door in 18th place.

Outside of Nintendo, the Monster Hunter series is also doing well with Monster Hunter Rise in 5th position and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate which ranks 25th.

Nintendo specifies that this ranking takes into account downloads made between January 1, 2024 and December 20, 2024.
