Which is the most attractive town in Isère? This Thursday, December 19, 2024, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) revealed its latest data concerning the population census in France in 2022. The opportunity to see the evolution of demography in Isère.

Au 1^is January 2022, date of the last INSEE census, the department had no less than 1,291,380 inhabitants, compared to 1,284,948 in 2021, an increase of 0.51%.

Bourgoin-Jallieu at the top of the ranking in Isère

Yes the main villas, Grenoblesees its population decrease over the years, this is not the case for Bourgoin-Jallieu. In absolute value, the fifth most populous municipality in the department is the one which saw its population grow the most between 2016 and 2022, going from 27,651 to 29,816 (+ 2,165 inhabitants), an increase of 1.26% in average per year.

The rest of the top 5 is then completed by Vienna (+ 2 101), Saint-Égrève (+ 2 028), Meylan (+ 1 675) et Voiron (+ 1 395).

Oulles defies all competition

In relative value, there is no photo. It is the very small town ofOulles (16 inhabitants) which recorded the greatest increase over the period (+ 14.77%). What follows Saint-Romain-de-Surieu (+ 5,10%), Hurtières (+ 4,81%), Sarcen (4,59%) et The Salette-Fallavaux (+ 4,22%).
