A great day to honor Saint John and give pride of place to music

Thanks to the unwavering commitment of the volunteers of the Festiv’wasseyenne association, the Fête de la Musique, which this year was coupled with the Saint-Jean fires, achieved a well-deserved success. This exceptional event took place at the Parc des promenades on Saturday, June 22, from early in the morning. The day began with a local market which, due to the weather, did not achieve the expected success. On the other hand, the entertainment was set up from the end of the morning with several inflatable structures, trampolines, as well as several games including ball games, fakir, treasure map and even skittles.

From the beginning of the afternoon, the Parc des promenades came alive with the arrival of numerous spectators who came to watch the show offered by the Zumb’Amis de la Blaise. This performance, hosted by Sandra, began with a group of “kids” who were then joined by several “divas” for a dance show which was greatly appreciated. The day continued with various activities, always in a musical atmosphere, until nightfall, an auspicious time for the Midsummer bonfire. For this particular event, the volunteers had thought of everything by creating a structure which took the form of a castle, reminiscent of the city gates, surrounded by two other structures, one representing the temple and the second, a small train , representing the station. For the members of Festiv’wasseyenne, the essential objective was to represent Wassy with various elements of its heritage. Around 11 p.m., the castle was set ablaze to honor the fire of Midsummer. After this spectacular entertainment, which was followed by several hundred spectators, time was given to music with an evening dedicated to Slimane and entitled “Thousands of I love you”.

  • The Zumb’Amis de la Blaise” put on a great show.
  • The Midsummer fire was magnificent.
