Celine Dion feels “embarrassed” every time she suffers an epileptic seizure.

Two years ago, the singer revealed she suffers from stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes involuntary muscle spasms and rigidity, and she has now admitted the disorder affects her physically as well as mentally.

In her documentary “I Am: Celine Dion,” which aired on Amazon Prime Video, the star said: “Every time that happens, it’s so embarrassing. It’s unpleasant to lose control of yourself.”

However, Celine drew strength from two strong women, the late opera singer Maria Callas and her own mother Thérèse, who raised 14 children on limited means.

She adds: “My husband [René Angélil – décédé en 2016 après avoir lutté contre un cancer de la gorge, ndlr] offered me this [un collier, ndlr]. It belonged to Maria Callas. I hope it will give me strength – I think it does. My mother was a very strong person. Sometimes there was nothing left in the refrigerator, but she never told us that we had nothing to eat. She made dough and if there were carrots, she made beautiful hot pies. Mom is the superhero. We felt only love, affection, attention – that’s what I have inside me. That’s what helps me.”
