When Booba lifted the veil on his American collaborations and the exorbitant cost of a duet with Rihanna, ultimately aborted due to the astronomical sum requested by the singer. The author of Ultra has not worked with American artists on his latest projects, a choice assumed after having multiplied international connections in his career. He justifies this choice by the exaggerated fee requested by certain American artists.

At the start of his career, Booba did not hide his influence from American rap. He even offered a few featurings with big names across the Atlantic like T-Pain, Diddy, Rick Ross, Akon, 2 Chainz, Jeremih and Future on the album DUC released in 2015. This album is the last project on which he invited international artists before collaborating mainly with French rappers or artists from his 92i label on his latest albums. In 2017, Booba justified this choice by revealing that collaborations with American artists cost too much. He also lamented that they did not produce the best performances on this type of featuring. He added that his various collaborations with Americans did not have the expected success and therefore chose not to do any more.
B2O has also mentioned in the past the astronomical prices asked by some big names, such as Rihanna with whom a featuring was insistently announced a few years ago. This never came to fruition because she demanded half a million euros to accept, which the DUC categorically refused to pay. “I tried, she asked me for half a million euros. Maybe it was a way of saying no too…”he explained.
Even though he has never produced a featuring with Rihanna, Booba still allowed himself to perform a freestyle on an instrumental of the singer in 2014 with his version of the single Stay.
