A triangular will not take place in Haute-Garonne. In the 7th constituencythe candidate Elisabeth Toutut-Picard of the political party Ensemble announces its withdrawal.

The former Macronist MP, whose mandate ended in 2022, gathered 24.81% of the votes during the first round of the legislative elections, Sunday June 30, 2024. She decided to withdraw, thus responding to the call of Gabriel Attal, the Prime Minister. Last night, he asked his candidates to withdraw from the second round to “prevent the National Rally from dominating the National Assembly”.

A second round of NFP against the LR-RN

Élisabeth Toutut-Picard will therefore leave room for a face-to-face meeting between The Republicans united with the National Rallyand the New popular front, in the 7th constituency. A decision welcomed by the outgoing deputy (LFI), candidate of the New Popular Front, Christophe Bexon X (ex-Twitter):

Gäetan Inard, winner of the first round

Sunday, June 30, the candidate Gaëtan Inardsupported by LR and the RN, municipal councilor in Marquefave, but also parliamentary assistant to Éric Ciotti, obtained 40,37 % of the votes cast. He turned well ahead in the first round in this 7th constituency of Haute-Garonne.

His opponent, the outgoing LFI MP Christophe Bex, for its part gathered 33.17% of the votes under the banner of the New Popular Front, in this constituency where there were only four candidates in the first round. And he was in unfavorable ballot for the second round, in the announced triangular.
