A fire broke out this Tuesday, June 25 in a building on rue de la Verrerie, in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, noted a journalist from BFM Paris Île-de-France.

The fire broke out around 8:45 a.m. behind the department store in this district in the heart of the capital.

A security perimeter was established by the police while around ten fire trucks were deployed, said the AFP journalist.

The BHV store, located near the fire, was closed. Staff from the main BHV building, located on the sidewalk opposite the damaged building, gathered in a neighboring building and the department store remained closed.

The burning smell is felt by many local residents.

According to the mayor of Paris Center, Ariel Weil, present in the morning, the fire left at least one injured. Firefighters continue to inspect the building for other potential victims.

The fire started from the first floor of a residential building under which there is a restaurant. The intervention of the firefighters is complicated by the significant presence of smoke. A drone is mobilized.
