No question of putting a label on it. For Sophie Line, if Harmony, 15 years old, is the youngest candidate for the Bac de la Marne this year, it is not because she has extraordinary abilities that she is « hyper intelligent » or that she locked herself in her room for hours to work. “I had passionate children, the school let them express themselves”immediately emphasizes this resident of Sillery, refusing to put her daughter in a box.

Harmony was 3 years old when his family moved to the department. It was at the Farman international school, a private establishment outside of a contract, that she flourished. Sophie Line then chose it because it was more suited to the situation of her adopted son, who presented trauma linked to abandonment. “The environment meant that there were 10 of them per class; there were a lot of outings. The child’s curiosity was highlighted”, remembers his mother. And that’s how Harmony skipped a grade; “like all his comrades”. Then another.

“It’s as if I had always been at a level that suited me; I don’t see the age difference, it’s more that it’s funny to others when they learn mine! »confides the young student – who we already have “taken for a teacher!” » she laughs – very comfortable with her environment and the methodologies proposed. “The music teacher was also the math teacher. And that’s how it felt to do a course in English! We were complaining but it was useful to us”concedes the high school student, who has good memories of her college years, even if everything was not rosy: “Sport was not a priority”notes his mother. “There was still some, but the children didn’t have access to a gym like the others. »

Along the way, Harmony finds herself in a class of six in 3e. “To pass the certificate, it’s great! » today recognizes the young girl, who faced the test as a free candidate, her school being out of contract. With this in mind, she is looking for a high school (the Farman school ends at the middle school). In thirst for “mixedness” and Japanese lessons – which she ultimately did not have –, Harmony, who depends on Chagall, turns to… Clemenceau. The meeting with the assistant principal goes wonderfully. “We had very good contact, straight away, always”remarks the high school student who, to return to the public, had to pass new tests.

She is not precocious. It is this situation that makes a child who has abilities get to this point.

“It was the same bond as in college: respect, recognition for the students who work, who invest themselves,” underlines Sophie Line. “I have a lot of gratitude, because he promoted this integration into high school” from Harmony. And to add, enthusiastically: “There’s a great team!” I am a parent delegate, it is incredible the 100% motivation of the teachers to motivate the students; I can’t believe everything that has been put in place. We hear so much criticism of public schools… It’s a chance, when you leave an establishment with an excellent level, to enter another like this where there is such dynamism. »

So it’s only natural for her that her daughter, “arrived at a very very high level from a school where she was pushed”, finds himself in final year with an equally good level. And to pass the Baccalaureate while being the youngest. She, who had also, during her second year, participated in a 15-day scientific expedition with 16 teenagers, in total autonomy, to carry out glaciological surveys in Iceland. “She’s not precocious. It is this situation that makes a child who has abilities get to this point and want to pursue medicine without asking any questions”insists his mother. “We show them that anything is possible. »

In medical school before obtaining a bachelor’s degree…

Harmony’s senior year was marred by chronic migraines and tension headaches, which prevented her from attending many classes during the second semester. “She’s been suffering from it for 9 years, but it got worse in February,” relates his mother. “It took time to find a protocol that worked”. Thanks to teachers and a team « extraordinaire », the young girl was able to collect all the lessons and homework. But with the amount of work to catch up on, it’s impossible for her to pass the Baccalaureate these days. “The CPE told us about the replacement tests in September. There are real protocols that are put in place by the academy”underlines Sophie Line. “We benefited from incredible support from the school. » “I didn’t want to repeat a grade; I have the capabilities, I’m not going to waste a year! »adds Harmony, who will enter medical school in September with a health access degree, with a minor in life sciences, even before completing her baccalaureate.

“The replacement session is open to candidates who were unable to take one or more tests in the first group, for reasons of force majeure”, we specify from the rectorate. “The candidates concerned justify their absence according to the terms indicated on their invitation. The marks obtained in the replacement tests are taken into account for the tests of the normal session which the candidate was unable to take (first or second group test). Candidates retain the benefit of their ranking in Parcoursup until the final deliberations. »

This year, the replacement session will take place from September 10 to 13 for the general and technological baccalaureate, from September 10 to 17 for the professional baccalaureate and September 13 for the anticipated written French test.
