Is Marie Tenret guilty of a violent theft and murder, committed on the night of August 22 to 23, 2017, to the detriment of Marie Delhoux on rue du Pied d’eau in Ronquières? His lawyer does not think so and he pleaded for acquittal before the Assize Court on Monday afternoon.

Marie Tenret was placed under surveillance during her preventive detention. She said, during a telephone conversation with her current partner, that she was “a little bit about the place anyway”. A statement that did not escape the investigators. “Twice, she declared that she drove him so that he could see his boyfriend, but that she was not involved in the facts”continues his lawyer.

Marie Tenret denies having entered Marie Delhoux’s home. The latter declared to those close to her that she had been attacked by several individuals, including a woman. “She was not interviewed, these are comments reported by others, the Arab telephone. In addition, this old lady was almost blind and in a state of dementia or confusion. Saying that she was afraid of nurses and concluding that it was because she was attacked by a woman, that was a quick turnaround.”.

Me Ronveau echoes the pleading of a lawyer for Daniel Bellens, declaring that it was Marie Tenret who had organized everything. “Why didn’t she leave any traces? Either she is a criminal mastermind. Or, she wasn’t there.
The lawyer asks the jurors to answer no to the theft and the aggravating circumstances.
Concerning the intention of homicide, the lawyer joins his colleague, Me Lauvaux, believing that elements are missing from the offense. Marie Delhoux died a few days after her attack, from head trauma. On the morning of August 23, 2017, his life was not in danger.
The jury deliberates. A stop is expected in the evening.
