This will help meet the strong demand for student housing in the Lille metropolitan area (North)! In Lomme, a huge project will lead to the construction of 1,000 homes. The construction site will start in summer 2024.

The Big Goal area will thus experience a metamorphosis. The first project is called Ecla with a residence which will have nearly 800 beds. UXCO Group has acquired it and will market it for the start of the 2026 academic year.

Offering over 18,000 m2 of surface area spread over three seven-story buildings, the residence will offer accommodation ranging from studios to T5.

Nearly 2,000 m2 Shared spaces and services will also be offered to residents: coworking spaces, restaurants, gyms, video games, music studio, library and work spaces, shared kitchens, and numerous landscaped outdoor spaces.

“This new acquisition demonstrates the confidence of the communities and the attractiveness of our model, which meets the housing needs of new generations of students and young workers,” says Maël Aoustin, Chairman of the Board of UXCO Group.

But this is not the only project being carried out in the city associated with Lille. “The development of the site will be done in 3 phases. First, this Ecla residence with a construction site that will start on July 4th for a period of 18 months. It will be completed in a second phase by a 300-room residence supported by the Catholic University of Lille and finally by a real estate project of 124 housing units backing onto the future Saint-Philibert forecourt by Carrefour Property and Nexity”, explains the mayor Olivier Caremelle.

A real transformation for this area very close to the urban park. “We can be collectively happy that this project is succeeding in a context of crisis. The political will will have made it possible to achieve it,” says the mayor.

Remember that other large-scale projects will also respond to the strong demand for housing in Villeneuve-d’Ascq thanks to Olympium and its 550 beds, as well as the Kley project of 584 housing units.
