The Brest Maritime Festival (Finistère), which will be held from July 12 to 17, 2024, can count on a solid team of 2,300 volunteers. “80% of them have been with us since the first edition. The others are joining us for the first time,” explains Pablo Dubois, responsible for volunteers at Brest nautical events.

On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, he received, with his team of mission managers, the representatives of the 70 associations ready to mobilize to make the heart of Brest 2024 beat. “The experience of some and their knowledge of past editions will be of great use to new registrants,” rejoices Pablo Dubois.

Ticketing, accommodation…

These volunteers will be spread across eleven strategic points on the site: information, ticketing, accreditations, reception of artists, maritime and dockside activities, accommodation, help with the press PC, maintaining cleanliness, handibox, management of volunteer space and even crew members ruffles.

“Without their immense dedication and commitment, the Maritime Festivals could not exist, underlines François Cuillandre, the president of the event. Their presence makes possible the realization and smooth running of this adventure. »

The average time volunteers are on site is two consecutive days, in slots of three to five hours. In return, the hour of volunteering is remunerated at €5 paid directly to the associations on which the volunteers depend. Brest nautical events will pay, in total, €180,000 to the associations involved.

A space to breathe

Volunteers will have the opportunity to get away from the hubbub of the crowds by taking a break at the One Club, transformed into a 700 m2 reserved space for the occasion.2Maxime Pellois, manager of the club, will close his establishment to the public for the entire duration of Brest 2024. “It’s a great way for me to participate in this major event. »

They also receive a bracelet allowing access to the site for the duration of this meeting.

The quota of volunteers has now been reached: registrations are therefore closed.
