JAKARTA – NASA held the fifth interplanetary planetary defense tabletop training on Thursday, June 22. This training is done so that American stakeholders can address the asteroid threat. Currently, Earth does not face the threat of asteroids. However, this tabletop training is still necessary for the U.S. government to respond to the threat of dangerous asteroids quickly and seek collaboration opportunities by presenting various scenarios. All participants present simulate the unprecedented asteroid attacks identified. This asteroid is expected to hit Earth within 14 years or in 2038 with a 72% probability of occurrence. In the initial observations, it was explained that the size, composition and long track of the asteroid have not been determined. To make the scenario more complicated, observations should be delayed

“The impact of a large asteroid has the potential to be the only natural disaster humanity has predicted in years and taking steps to prevent it,” Johnson said. In creating the threat scenario for this asteroid, NASA is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the US Department of State’s Office of Outer Space Affairs. They use data from the Double Asteroid Screening Technology (DART). DART is a protest mission launched in September 2022 to respond to the asteroid attack. This spacecraft crashed into the asteroid Dimorphos to change its course so that it was not heading towards Earth. This mission succeeds because the orphos has changed because orphos has changed even still flying around the asteroid Didymos. At the D
