Formula 1 | New tensions between Horner, Marko and the Verstappen clan

Tensions have flared up again, at least in public, in the Red Bull camp… at home in Austria this weekend.

It started with the statements of Dr. Helmut Marko, who claimed that “Christian Horner’s plan” to save Private Daniel Ricciardo had failed and he started Liam Lawson for 2025, without telling anyone.

Peter Bayer, the CEO of RB F1, had to explain this as we reported to you here, a CEO who was in a lot of trouble keeping things simple…

Marko, with his positions, thus seems to clearly dissociate himself from the policy desired by Horner. In the Red Bull Ring paddock, he even isolated himself from the rest of the team for a good while during the media day yesterday. What will happen today and for the rest of the weekend, at home?

And while Max Verstappen wanted to clarify yesterday that he would stay at Red Bull in 2025, another controversy broke out concerning his father, Jos, still at odds with Horner.

Jos Verstappen was due to take part in the Parade of Legends this weekend at the Red Bull Ring, with a 2021 RB8. It should have been his first test of a Red Bull F1 car, even if it is not one of his son’s old cars.

But Christian Horner, who discovered this “by total surprise” managed to have Red Bull Austria’s plan cancelled, much to the anger of Jos Verstappen.

“Over the last few days, I’ve heard from several sources that Christian has done everything he can to not let me drive, and otherwise to make sure nothing is filmed. I wish that ‘he says it to my face It’s not necessary for me, I find it very disappointing.’

And Jos Verstappen decided to simply cancel…

The Horner scandal is still very much ongoing and the “ceasefire” wanted in public has just taken a big hit, both on the side of Verstappen and Marko…
